CONSUMPTION
{{ o.label }} {{ o.v }}
METHOD Per the Eurotech BluSeal calculator: gap fill area = (strands × strand ز × 0.8) − total strand CSA, over 25 mm of penetration, × 1.06 g/mL × application factor. Splices then add the joint fill — internal weight × (leads × 3.5 ÷ application factor). Dip time = CSA ÷ 8 + 5, capped at 10 s and floored at 5 s; tap time = leads ÷ 25 × 5.

SOURCE Coroplast Tape Calculator© — standard consumption = 3.14·L·Ø·factor ÷ (width × (100 − overlap)); RT-Series = L·Ø·factor ÷ 796; triple end-winding = 3.14·Ø·2 ÷ 1000, applied to both. The sheet's literal 3.14 is used rather than π so figures match it cell for cell. Roll lengths and prices are Eurotech additions for costing — the sheet has no cost model.

Tearing method

Cross tearing
Tearing in cross-direction
Tear close to harness
Tear the last layer close to the harness
Handling that differs by tape construction. Tap a type for its sequence.
Thicker tapes over 0.5 mm {{ tgMarkThick }}
Textile and laminate tapes thicker than 0.5 mm: 8440 X · 8570/8580, 8571, 8572/8582, 8575 X, 8579 X · 833 MPX, 834 MPX.
Thicker tapes
Single winding, ends fixed with a triple winding of 837 X or 317
Exception: 880 and 880 X are excluded.
1 Apply a single winding
2 Fix the ends with a triple winding of an additional tape, for example Coroplast 837 X or Coroplast 317
PP film tapes polypropylene film {{ tgMarkFilm }}
Film adhesive tapes. Wrap close to the harness and make sure to do a triple winding at the end.
PP film tapes
Wrap film tape close to the harness
1 Wrap close to the harness, triple winding at the end
2 To tear, hold the tape close to the harness and pull close to the harness — use the tip of your finger for easier, shorter tearing
3 For cross tearing, do not touch the adhesive side with the hand holding the harness
4 Tear in cross direction close to the harness, then fix the end by short thumb pressure
5 To wrap onto a corrugated tube: change the wrapping direction to reach the tube, wind through the slit, add a triple winding on the tube, then continue in the prescribed direction
6 On a junction, secure the bonding in the slit of every corrugated tube, then cross-wind to fix the construction
After the third winding, do not elongate the tape by pulling the roll. PP films deform after elongation, which may cause flagging.
PP films are tearable, but only tear them if you are sure about the process. Cut film tapes if you are not sure how to tear.
RT reverse tapes adhesive outward {{ tgMarkRt }}
Reverse tapes carry the adhesive on the outward face, so the wrap is built adhesive to adhesive and the final layer must be covered.
RT reverse tapes
RT first winding on itself, 100% overlap
Handedness matters: if the wrapping direction is described right to left, use the RT L version; left to right, use the RT R version.
1 Fix the tape on the harness from the rear
2 Wrap the first winding on itself with an overlap of 100%
3 Start the diagonal wrapping by applying an additional winding on the backing
4 Continue wrapping at an angle of 45°, adhesive to adhesive ideally, or adhesive to back — never leaving adhesive on the outside
5 Apply the last winding at an angle of 0° and cut the last layer under tension, short to the harness
6 The last layer leaves adhesive outside, so finish with a standard tape, for example Coroplast 8550
On a Y-junction: wrap the break-out with the RT tape, bind it over the knot, wrap the main branch, then wrap the final layer once and cover it — and the knot where adhesive is visible — with the same Coroplast tape in 19 mm, for example 8550 RT covered with 8550.
On an X-junction: wrap both break-outs first with standard wrapping tape in 19 mm, fixate the knot, then wrap the break-out with the RT tape and over the knot. Cover the final layer and the exposed knot with the matching standard tape.
LT longitudinal tapes LT, LT1, LT2, LT3, LT4 {{ tgMarkLt }}
Longitudinal tapes are applied along the harness rather than wound around it. Five variants: LT, LT1, LT2, LT3 and LT4, differing in where the adhesive strips sit.
LT longitudinal tapes
LT — adhesive strip onto adhesive strip, never onto the harness
Unroll the tape to the needed length. Cutting is recommended for LT tapes.
1 LT — press the side that leaves the adhesive outside onto the harness, wrap the tape close to the harness, then stick the inside adhesive strip onto the outside adhesive strip, not onto the harness
2 LT1 and LT2 — fix the first adhesive strip on the harness with contact along the entire length, wrap close to the harness, then stick the second adhesive strip onto the tape, not onto the harness
3 LT3 — fix the first adhesive strip with contact along the entire length, remove the release liner, wrap close to the harness, then fix adhesive to adhesive
4 LT4 — fix the first adhesive strip on the harness; the first layer leaves an adhesive strip outside, so wrap close to the harness and fix adhesive to adhesive
5 Every variant: make sure the adhesive strip is fully covered, and finish with short thumb pressure along the entire length, beginning at the corners
The inside adhesive strip may overlap in the direction of the backing material — but the adhesive strip must end up fully covered.
